What is mechatronics?

Mechatronics is the application of electronics and mechanics to create a system. It is an interdisciplinary field that combines mechanical engineering with electronics or electrical engineering, biomedical engineering (e.g., biophysics), computer science, control theory, statistics, and operations research. This can be anything from a simple robot to an entire automobile. Mechatronics is a broad term that encompasses many different areas of study, which is why people often confuse mechatronics with mechanical engineering or robotics. 

 The goal of mechatronics is to design complex systems that require interdisciplinary and multi-scale knowledge from both fields.

Mechatronics uses advanced computer programming and software to design robots, drones and other objects that perform tasks using sensors, computers, batteries and motors. The field also includes robotics research and development projects.

  1. Automotive Engineer

An automotive engineer is a highly trained professional who designs and maintains machines, vehicles, and systems within the automotive industry. Their job requires a strong understanding of chemistry and physics as well as mechanical engineering, as well as an ability to work on complex projects under tight deadlines and environments.

  1. Control System Engineer

Control system engineers are responsible for designing, developing and maintaining complex control systems used in a variety of industries. These include industrial automation (e.g., manufacturing), aerospace, defence, transportation (e.g., automobiles), utilities and medical devices. They also design software that makes it easier for engineers to control large devices or machines via computer networks or other types of communications systems.
